Follow our easy guide and our best tips for successful maintenance!

WITH OUR DETERGENT FOR OUTERWEAR

To clean your waterproof fabric without damaging its protective membrane, use a specially formulated detergent, such as Flotte dilutable detergent. Designed for technical textiles, it cleans gently while preserving waterproof properties. If you don't need to clean the entire garment, use water with a little washing-up liquid for oily stains.

Washing tips:
- Before putting it in the machine, close all the zips so that the turns of the drum don't damage the inner membrane.
- Wash at a temperature of Preferably machine-wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle.
- Do not use fabric softener, which could clog the breathable fibers and damage the waterproof membrane.
- Avoid excessive spin-drying, which could weaken the fabric.

LES BONS GESTES POUR CHAQUE PIÈCE

Is it machine-washable?

Yes, but before you put your Flotte garment in the washing machine, we advise you to close all the zips on your garment. If it's an Amelot raincoat, for example, don't forget to close the central zip, as well as all the pockets.

You can then machine- or hand-wash your waterproof jacket, cold and up to 30°C, adding a very small amount of liquid detergent. Opt for a very moderate spin to avoid creasing the garment unnecessarily. If your washing machine has a delicate program, don't hesitate to use it!

We advise you to wash your garments Flotte on their own, by hand or machine.

What type of detergent should I use to wash my raincoat?

We strongly advise against using washing powders in direct contact with the garment. Nor should you use products that may contain fabric softeners or stain removers. Avoid using chlorine on your garment. All these elements will greatly reduce the effectiveness of your jacket's waterproof film.

Can I put my raincoat in the dryer?

Once the garment has been machine-washed, we recommend that you lay it flat or on a hanger, and wait quietly for it to dry on its own.

To preserve the waterproof fabric, we strongly advise against tumble-drying.

Can I iron my raincoat?

After washing your garment Flotte, you can iron it, but only with steam! It's normal for the garment to come out of the machine a little wrinkled, so a little steam ironing with a steamer/defroisseur is all it takes! Your Flotte piece is as good as new!

How do I remove a stain from my raincoat?

Use a damp cloth or sponge with warm water and mild soap. Avoid aggressive products.

THE BRAND

What's the origin of the word Flotte and the logo?

Like many of you, when it rains, we use this typically French expression: "il flotte".

At Flotte, we were keen to highlight this word from French slang and to make it known internationally!

Why this logo?

◦ The drop of water represents the "o" in Flotte and our raison d'être, rain.
◦ The small slit at the circle echoes our disruptive side, treating rain differently through color and positive attitude. It also refers to the power of water, which changes shapes.
◦ Finally, the colors are reminiscent of those of France, our roots and our source of inspiration! All our pieces are designed in Paris.

Where are your clothes made?

Our garments are researched and designed in Paris and manufactured in Asia in a workshop specializing in recycled outerwear. The manufacture of our garments requires special technical skills and know-how that cannot be found elsewhere. That's why we work with partners in China. It's in this part of the world that we now find the largest production facilities, which meet our specifications.

Our raw materials and production system enable us to guarantee quality without having to transport raw materials. What's more, our collections are produced in limited quantities, thus avoiding textile overproduction.

Our partners in China are BSCI-certified, and the wages of the craftsmen we work with are above average. One of our teams visits the workshops several times a year to monitor production and carry out a social audit of the manufacturing chain.

Our products are sold internationally in over 250 points of sale (in Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan, etc.), and all production is carried out in a single location. The raw materials and the production system enable us to guarantee quality without multiplying product transport.

Do you have points of sale?

Vous pouvez nous retrouver dans notre boutique flagship à Paris ou dans de nombreuses boutiques revendeuses en France. Pour savoir quelle boutique se trouve le plus proche de chez vous, jetez un œil à notre carte.

Do you have a sale?

At Flotte, we don't have sales for the following reasons:

1/ Our collections are timeless.

2/ We are committed to fighting overproduction, which is why we produce in limited quantities. The majority of our production is based on pre-order. So we don't really have "unsold". On the contrary, when the size or color is available, you have to go for it!

3/ This policy of no overproduction and timeless products allows us to guarantee fair prices all year round. Without discounts at all costs.
